Flexible Time

First no schedule is necessary. It’s okay to not have an 7am-2pm. The beauty of homeschooling is it’s flexible. As long as you have academic goals to follow, start there. Find your own rhythm and go slowly.

Homeschool Table

Secondly you can homeschool at the kitchen table. For many families homeschooling was forced,it wasn’t a choice. There is absolutely no need to waste money on fancy school desks. A desk is not essential. A desk is not a necessity. Use the table if you can’t afford a desk. You children might be more comfortable on the floor ha! It happens. Find your own rhythm and go slowly.

Flash cards and note book

My third tip is do not waste money on a planner. In the beginning fancy planners are nothing but note book paper all dressed up. Plan your days and weeks with flash cards and a note Book from the dollar tree.

Learning outside

Tip number four is to understand majority of learning will be outside of the books. Nature walks can teach many things. The park, a train ride, a bus trip, on the playground, soccer field all will be different learning experiences. Classroom and school books are not the only important.

Goals

Lastly have an open mind with courage and lots of patience. You are in control of your children and their destiny. Remember the goal is to push them forward in life. You have been given the chance to create the best relationship as an educator to your child. You are greatest contributor to your child thriving in life. Set clear goals. Their spiritual, emotional, mental and social wellbeing are affected by who is teaching. Find your rhythm and go slowly.
